Registered Nursing
Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences

Students successfully completing this program are eligible to take the licensure examination for registered nursing.

Registered nurses (RNs) carry out physician directives for patient care and make independent decisions concerning patient care based on the nursing process.

As important members of the health care team, RNs perform a wide variety of functions, including assessing patient conditions and environmental factors; planning and implementing care; evaluating the outcome of care given; and replanning as needed.

This program is approved by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Completion of the prescribed program does not guarantee successful performance on the licensure examination.
